Allison Marinucci, LCSW Meet Your Therapist

I’m Allison Marinucci — a licensed clinical social worker, endurance athlete, mom, and the founder of Racing Thoughts Counseling. My work is grounded in nearly two decades of experience supporting adolescents and adults in schools, hospitals, and crisis settings, and I specialize in trauma-informed care using EMDR and TF-CBT.

But beyond the credentials, I know firsthand how heavy life can feel. I’ve run ultramarathons, completed 70.3 races, and lined up at the base of a mountain for sky races— all while carrying the invisible weight of anxiety and grief. I’ve trained through postpartum depression.

I’ve had both hips replaced at 40. I’ve come back from injury and emotional exhaustion with a deeper appreciation for what real resilience feels like.

That’s why I started Racing Thoughts Counseling: to help others untangle the thoughts that keep them stuck — whether those thoughts come from trauma, self-doubt, burnout, or the pressure to keep pushing forward.

I work virtually with clients in New York State and offer local “walk and talk” sessions to my local Capital Region Clients.

I know firsthand the physical and mental benefits of endurance training.
